Due to company expansion, we are seeking candidates for the following positions:

In Westwood, MA and Secaucus, NJ, we are seeking a strong Director of Operations with at least five years experience in the fields of In-Home Delivery and/or Warehousing.  The Director of Operations is responsible for the motivation, training, and leadership of the office staff, the independent contractors (30+), and their delivery teams.  The Director assists in developing and executes daily operational plans to meet and exceed client performance standards and customer service requirements, while maximizing quality of service and productivity.

Specific Duties:

• Works closely with client management to ensure prompt, efficient, and accurate delivery of merchandise
• Monitors the productivity of owner/operator delivery teams.
• Ensures all team members have specific responsibilities and an equitable distribution of workload.
• Coaches, counsels and trains team members in core competencies and prepares them for future opportunities.
• Recruit and interview owner operators
• Develop and implement department and center goals
• Verifies all delivery teams are D.O.T compliant
• Monitors and enforces all corporate and client policies and procedures.
• Executes proper controls of payroll and other assigned expenses.
• Performs other duties as directed by Vice President of Operations

Requirements for the successful candidate would include:

• Experience in transportation, logistics, or delivery systems with preference given to appliance and/or furniture experience.
• Meticulous, goal-oriented, and self-motivated
• Knowledge of warehouse systems
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Office, Windows, etc)
• Superior communication skills
• Familiar in working with independent contractors and DOT regulations.
• Positive attitude in interactions with all levels of staff.
• Excellent understanding of process workflows and productivity standards
• Established record of departmental and center level improvements in productivity standards
• Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
• Consistent in performance and attendance.
